About this service

A service plan built around your pool.

Swimming pool servicing is the regular care that keeps water safe to swim in and keeps the equipment behind it running. Each visit covers water testing and chemical balancing, cleaning the pool, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, backwashing the filter and checking the plant room for anything that is starting to wear.

We set the visit frequency around how you actually use your pool or spa: weekly in peak summer, fortnightly for lighter use, or monthly for spas and pools that are covered most of the time. You can change it as the seasons change. Plans are available for both domestic pools and commercial clients.

It suits owners who want to swim rather than maintain, people who travel and need someone checking chemical levels while they are away, and anyone who has taken on a pool with a new house and isn't sure what it needs. Professional servicing matters because small imbalances are cheap to correct and expensive to ignore; a pool that is checked regularly rarely turns green, and equipment that is looked at regularly rarely fails without warning.

If it's ignored

What happens when servicing slips.

Pools don't fail overnight. They drift, and every week of drift adds to the bill to put it right.

Algae and green water

Once chlorine drops and algae takes hold, a weekly 20-minute visit becomes a multi-day recovery with shock dosing, brushing and repeated backwashing, and the pool is out of use while it clears.

Corroded and scaled equipment

Water that sits too acidic eats into heat exchangers, pump seals and fittings. Water that sits too alkaline leaves scale on tiles, heaters and filter media. Both shorten the life of expensive kit.

Unsafe swimming water

Water can look clear and still be unbalanced. Low sanitiser lets bacteria survive; high levels irritate eyes and skin. Regular testing is the only way to know.

Hidden faults left to grow

A weeping pump seal, a sticking valve or a pressure gauge creeping up is easy to fix when caught early. Left alone, it becomes a failed pump or a cracked filter.

Watch out for

Common mistakes we see

  • Adding chemicals by guesswork instead of testing first
  • Running the pump for fewer hours to save on electricity, so the water never fully turns over
  • Forgetting to backwash, so the filter clogs and the pump strains
  • Treating cloudy water with more chlorine when the real problem is pH or the filter

Our process

Five clear steps, no surprises.

  1. 01

    Site visit

Anthony visits for free, looks at your pool, plant room and how you use it, and asks what you want from a plan.

  2. 02

    Water and equipment check

A full water test and a look at the pump, filter, heating and dosing equipment, so the plan starts from an accurate picture.

  3. 03

    Regular visits

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly visits to test, balance, clean, empty baskets and backwash, with the plant room checked each time.

  4. 04

    Testing and reporting

Readings are checked again after dosing. Anything that needs attention is flagged to you with a clear explanation and a quote.

  5. 05

    Ongoing care

Frequency adjusts with the season, and any agreed repairs are carried out with guarantee terms confirmed in writing.

What you get

The difference you'll notice.

Your weekends back

No testing kits, no chemical runs, no backwashing. You swim; we handle the rest.

Safer water

Sanitiser and pH kept within range on every visit, so the water is comfortable and safe for the family.

Longer-lasting equipment

Balanced water and regular checks protect pumps, heaters and filters from corrosion, scale and strain.

Fewer surprises

Wear is spotted early and quoted before it becomes a breakdown in the middle of summer.

Peace of mind when away

Chemical levels checked while you are on holiday, so you come home to a pool ready to use.

One point of contact

The same specialist looks after servicing, repairs and upgrades, so nothing gets lost between companies.

In detail

What a pool service actually covers.

Every pool is different, so the details of each visit are set to suit yours. Here is what is typically involved.

Water chemistry

Testing free chlorine or bromine, pH, total alkalinity and calcium hardness, then dosing to bring each into range. Getting pH right first matters: it decides how well the sanitiser works. Stabiliser levels are checked on outdoor chlorine pools, where too much makes chlorine sluggish.

Cleaning

Skimming the surface, brushing walls and steps, vacuuming the floor, and cleaning the waterline where oils and scale collect. Skimmer and pump strainer baskets are emptied so water flows freely.

Filtration

Sand and glass-media filters are backwashed and rinsed when pressure rises. Cartridge filters are inspected and cleaned. A clogged filter is one of the most common causes of cloudy water and strained pumps.

Plant room checks

Looking over the pump, multiport valve, heater or heat pump, dosing equipment and pipework for leaks, noise or pressure changes. Early warning signs are reported before they become failures.

Pools and spas, indoor and outdoor

Outdoor pools need more attention in summer for debris and sunlight burning off chlorine. Indoor pools and spas run warmer and are used more evenly year-round, so balance and ventilation matter more. Hot tubs and spas get the same water care, scaled to their size.

Domestic and commercial

Home pools usually suit a weekly or fortnightly plan. Commercial pools see heavier use and need more frequent testing and record-keeping. We work with both and set the plan accordingly.

FAQs

Swimming Pool Servicing: your questions.

Can't see yours? Call 07879 067691.

How much does pool servicing cost?

It depends on the size of the pool, how often you want visits and what equipment you have. Site visits and quotes are free, so Anthony can look at the pool and give you a clear price for the plan that suits it.

How often should my pool be serviced?

Most outdoor pools suit weekly visits in summer. Fortnightly suits lighter use, and monthly can work for covered pools and spas. We'll recommend a frequency at the site visit and you can change it later.

Do you service hot tubs and spas as well?

Yes. Servicing plans cover both swimming pools and spas.

Do you offer an annual service plan?

Yes. Customers have described our annual service plan as good value. Ask at the site visit and we'll explain what it covers for your pool.

Can you check my pool while I'm on holiday?

Yes. We can visit while you're away to check chemical levels, so the pool is ready when you're back.

What if you find a fault during a service?

We'll explain what we've found, what it means and give you a quote. Repairs to pumps, filters and valves are often quoted quickly and fitted soon after.

Which areas do you service?

Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and London, including Guildford, Cobham, Reigate, Horsham, Haywards Heath, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Petersfield and Wimbledon.

Do you service commercial pools?

Yes. We work with both domestic and commercial clients.
